This sad little blog has missed regular updates, but I got so swamped (a great thing) this season that something had to give. You see, I have a two year old that is a tornado...she reeks havoc wherever she goes and so my computer time when I get busy is spent editing rather than updating, because there is just not enough time when said child is either a. asleep or b. asleep and I can actually be productive without a roll of toilet paper being flushed down the toilet or hair product being applied liberally to her hair. There is NEVER a dull moment around these here parts.

That being said, I am back. Life has slowed down enough to catch a breath and enjoy the holiday, but I will be back next week with a few surprises, some newborns and a new blog to debut. I am more than excited! Please check back for the fun and until then,

Fashion Monday?? {St. George Photographer}

So, I am a few days late with this, but I did get the looks picked before Friday! We went out of town for the weekend so between packing and whatnot, I just couldn't get it all together! Anyway...these are some great looks for parents. All the looks are from Boden. Boden is so great at putting various pieces together and making them look awesome. I love the layers. They photograph really well and they allow you to coordinate more easily with other family members. For instance, the outfit with the red coat could be paired with a cute denim skirt and shirt for a little girl and the boys could wear sweaters in colors that match the shirt or plain polos. The red makes a real statement. If you notice, her heels are the plum color of the man's outfit to the left of it. Those two outfits would look awesome in pictures. They are casual enough to still be comfortable, but a little more than the daily Target t-shirt (hello me) and comfortable jeans. Make sense? Adding outer wear makes all of these outfits more unique. Also, love the scarf on the middle bottom man's outfit. Just a little detail that adds a lot.

And, I don't think you have to go to Boden to get a look like this. I bet most of us have pieces in our current wardrobe that could be added to liven our outfit up a bit. Check out Boden for great ideas though!

So, I only missed, ummmm, 4 weeks or so. I promise to do better. It is not for a lack of cute clothes to blog about...just time. So, I have three fun girl outfits today. No boys. I think I am still in mourning over my son cutting off my daughters curly locks and all I can think is girly and pretty (though Miss P does look cute even with her short do.) The first outfits are from Janie and Jack. I have been eying this line forever and it is finally on sale. I may have to have my own little photoshoot in one of these outfits!

Well, I have been kind of slow updating my blog because I have been enjoying some time with my kids! I have cut back on the number of clients that I take so that I can focus a little more on being a good mom! It has been nice. I am already starting the busy time of year though so here we go!! I have some fantastic new Christmas cards this year (I will post some samples in the next few days) and great new products! I am also photographing some twins tomorrow and can not wait to post a preview...

I am almost entirely scheduled for October so if you are hoping for some beautiful family photos for the Christmas season, schedule now!

Mini Sessions!!

I am happy to announce that I will be offering a {limited} number of mini sessions in August.

What is a mini session??
It is a short (30 minute-ish) session with one child. It normally is done in my studio, although I am offering two outdoor mini sessions this go round for anyone interested in using some fun ideas that I have brewing!!

The cost-
$150

Once your session is complete I will select up to 10 of the best photos and you will get them on a disk to print at the lab of your choice. I also will put together a storyboard for each client that is available to purchase through me.

This is a great way to have cute pictures done for Christmas cards (because yes, it is time to think about those again---I can't believe it!). I have some fantastic new cards this year and will post some samples in the next day.

I have so many clients ask me about what they should wear and believe me, I know how hard it is to choose clothes for pictures. So, I decided to start posting some clothing ideas each friday to help all of my clients know what sorts of outfits photograph well!

These outfits are all from the Gap...I love the Gap for photo clothes. They are classic, edgy, fun and can be layered so well. You really can find something for almost anyone!

I just got back from a FANTASTIC photography workshop in Phoenix! I feel inspired and my love for photography is as strong as ever!! I will be making a lot of exciting new changes to my business in the next few months as well as introducing new products and I can't wait. January Workshop

We had a very successful photography workshop this past January. We had a lot of fun and people leave knowing how to use their camera...it is great! There is nothing I love more than teaching people to do something that I love so much.

So, if you have a slr camera...come to our next workshop. It will be held in June!

We had some of the greatest, best looking models! These two girls were so much fun and have beautiful eyes, hair, and style. When I was in high school I didn't have it together like these two. That is for sure!

And these kids are the cutest. They all had the most gorgeous blue eyes as well...and cute faces. It makes taking pictures even more fun to have such cute subjects!

Photoshop Tutoring

After much thought on the matter I have decided to offer Photoshop one on one tutoring. I have played with the idea of a class, but it is just too much of a time committment for everyone involved, plus the logistics were a little tricky. So, I think this is the perfect alternative!

Here are the details:

One on One Photoshop Tutoring
$100 for 2 hours
Held either at your home or mine

Learn how all the tools and options work, layers, masks, history, actions etc. I will also teach some options for converting to black and white and color pop. We will get through as much as possible in the two hours and then if you want more we can schedule additional sessions!

Procrastination...

January is typically a slow month for me with regards to shooting. However, it is also the month where I have to prepare taxes...YUCK. So what do I do instead, photoshop neglected pics of my kiddos, eat candy and play games on Facebook. Haha. Now, back to work for me, but first, a few fun pics of the kids.

I have mentioned before that sessions with my kids last about 10 minutes max. They can be such stinkers. J is getting better, but now we are moving into cheesy smile stage. I am just trying to embrace it.

I am hoping to increase my studio settings this year. I have some awesome backdrops and am the proud owner of a studio light. Look forward to some cool stuff coming from my camera!!

Here are a few of the last sessions I had last year...

We did this session on Thanksgiving day and it was rainy all day long. With a little creativity we made it work though!!

One of my clients showed me the greatest picture spot with red rocks. I love it now and think I will do some of my own family shots here!

It was such a nice change of pace to have a session of adults...I almost felt like I wasn't working hard enough without chasing and putting on a circus for little kids. My jokes are definitely not as funny to the 20+ crowd though :)!
